Charles was born into a family with two sisters in the alley of Parrish Avenue. Her father is American and mother is Chinese. Family life was very happy until when she was 10 years old, cancer took her father’s life. Her mother, due to grief and hard work, also suffered from a serious illness. From an innocent child, Charles now has to live in poverty. Since the age of 12, she has often not been able to eat, even nothing to eat, a meal of vegetable rice is too luxurious for her. Seeing her friends of the same age eating delicious meat and wearing beautiful clothes made her very envious. Therefore, the wish to eat well and dress beautifully is always in her mind.
After many times of thinking like that, she finally had enough courage to apply for a waitress job at a restaurant near her home. In the morning Charles goes to school, in the afternoon and evening he goes to work at that restaurant. Life went on like that for 6 years, by which time she had grown up and was able to do other jobs to support herself.
At the age of 18, she began studying food technology at a university in San Antonio. At the age of 23, she graduated from university and worked as a chef on an Eurasian cruise ship, and experienced the culinary culture of many countries around the world from North America, Europe, West Asia, and Southeast Asia.
With many years of cooking experience, along with experiences in diverse culinary cultures of many countries around the world, Charles went from being hungry without food to becoming a cooking enthusiast. Now each recipe and cooking tutorial is a practical inspiration that she experiences, hoping readers will have more delicious and prosperous meals!
